The Multidisciplinary Ethnic Center was established in 1996 by Chaim Shiran, born out of a deeply felt need to honor diverse ethnic traditions within a nation whose citizens form a vibrant mosaic of different cultural origins.
The Center serves as a primary hub for activities dedicated to preserving the heritage of Israel's diverse communities, providing a platform for various groups, ensembles, and individual artists—including creators in literature, cinema, music, visual arts, poetry, and beyond.
Inbal views itself as an active partner in this preservation work, offering a main stage for artistic presentation, research, and cultural dialogue.
By providing a platform where creators, artists, and researchers can showcase their art and share their work with the wider public, the Center plays an honorable and vital role in educating and exposing audiences to the rich heritage of Israel's communities and the multicultural fabric of Israeli society.
As part of the Center's extensive and varied programming, events span all artistic disciplines: music, dance, theater, film screenings, literary evenings, festivals, and visual arts exhibitions. The Center also regularly hosts panel discussions and symposiums across a wide range of topics.

Founder
Chaim Shiran
Director, researcher, and filmmaker. He founded the Center in 1996 out of a recognition of the many ethnic origins of Israeli society and the need to give lasting stage space to artists dedicated to preserving this heritage. The Center continues to operate in the spirit of the vision he set out.
